Grammar points

• The most common structure is Subject + Verb + Object.
• Words starting with Or- usually denote objects, places or elements of the world.
• Words starting with Tso- usually denote people or social relations.
• Terms ending in -ium usually refer to technology or machines.
• Pronouns: mi (I), ta (you), so (he/she), mila (we), tala (you plural), sola (they).
• Tense: a particle before the verb — Zen (past), Tor (future); the present takes no particle.
• Plural: suffix -ra on the noun (Tsonir → Tsonira); simply -a after a final r.
• The adjective is placed after the noun: Orflor ruza (red flower).

Sentence construction

• Question: the interrogative word is placed at the start of the sentence.
• Negation: Vak is placed before the verb.
• No articles; possession is expressed by juxtaposition: mi Tsomak (my father).
• The copula is omitted before the attribute: Tsonir veki (the child is sad).
• Sentences tend to stay short, direct and very readable.
