Paytayle is the planet of mushrooms. Almost everything that grows there is a mushroom: the ground is covered with carpets of small mushrooms of every colour, and vast forests of giant mushrooms, taller than trees, raise their caps up to the clouds.

The giant mushroom forests

The giant mushroom forest of Paytayle The giant mushrooms of Paytayle form true forests. Beneath their immense caps reigns a soft, coloured light, and their spores drift through the air like slow snow. Between their massive stems grow thousands of small mushrooms, so tightly packed they form entire meadows.

The people of the mushroom houses

The mushroom-house village of Paytayle A peaceful people lives on Paytayle, in small mushroom houses: mushrooms fitted out as homes, with round doors, windows in the cap and chimneys releasing glowing spores. Their villages nestle at the feet of the giant mushrooms.

The sqqatar

The sqqatar, mushroom-coloured animal covered in mushrooms The sqqatar is Paytayle’s emblematic animal. It is mushroom-coloured, and mushrooms grow directly on its back and flanks. When it stands still, it can be mistaken for a simple clump of mushrooms — its perfect camouflage.

On Paytayle it is sometimes impossible to say where the forest ends and the living begin: even the animals are a little bit mushroom.
